Pantechnicon Ministry
Sometimes I suspect that we build our traps ourselves,
then we back into them, pretending amazement the while.
That this is the way of life, from the All-Highest
down to the meanest creature in creation.
Tools, of course, can be the subtlest of traps.
–Daniel, in "Exiles", by N.G.

Any sufficiently advanced technology
is indistinguishable from magic.

One of the many 'lesser' ministries, not one of the Four Great Ministries with truly globe-spanning Tetrarchies, though know to be among the most powerful of these groups, possibly on the cusp of usurping that high position by unseating one of the current ones. These Seers believe modern technology to be an excellent cage and controlling mechanism for humanity. Central to their doctrine is the precept that humanity walks into that cage themselves. Devoted to rulership of the world by technological superiority.

Ultimate Objectives

To ensure that human society, and the lives of all individual people within it, depends entirely upon advanced technology in all ways. Especially by technology so advanced and complex that the population at large has no grasp of how it works or how to properly control it, thus making people willingly making themselves slaves to those who DO master these technologies: The Pantechnicon Ministry itself.

It was originally founded by splinter Hegemons, Seers from other minor groups and the remaining traitor Nameless, who all agreed on promoting the use of technological superiority as a means of imposing one’s will. In the first half of the century most Seer factions were trying to claim as for themselves the power & dominance that the Hegemonic Ministry lost when they failed to recruit the Free Council to the Pyramid, but both Pantechnicon and Panopticon were catapulted into a head start over the dozens of other Ministries by the atomic bomb, and both made excellent use of the growing Cold War. In the end, however, Pantechnicon couldn't sustain the growth in numbers of Seers it required in the face of aggression from both the Libertines (who saw them as a personal arch-enemy) & from rival Seers, and so much of its membership dispersed to Hegemonic, Panopticon, and even the Pentacle. Free of opposition, Panopticon took the prize: a place among the Great Ministries of the Throne, and the elevation of their patron Exarch to being an Archigenitor, the most divine station in the Seer’s picture of the supernal.

Pantechnicon still remained a one of the most solidly established and powerful among the Lesser Ministries, however, and the constant technological innovations that the latter half of the century kept bringing, not to mention the the overwhelming digital revolution which followed, seems to have provided the Pantechnic Seers another opportunity to maybe reach the top of the Pyramid after all.
