Any Disciple of Mind can make himself smarter or more quick-witted, but empowering your own Virtue is a different sort of spell, albeit still quite a useful one.

Mechanics: The caster's Virtue comes to the fore and influences his actions more strongly. If the player spends Willpower on an action that serves their character’s Virtue, the bonus the player receives is increased to +5 extra dice, rather than +3, or it raises a Resistance Trait by 4 instead of 2.

At the end of the scene, the character regains all Willpower spent in service to the Virtue (that is, any WP expenditure for which he earned the spell's bonus).

The ST is the final arbiter on whether a given action is in line with the character’s Virtue, though the list below (and the separate wiki-page discussing the Virtues) should help give some guidelines and ideas.

ACTIONS THAT FULFILL THE VIRTUES (giving full WP pool)
Faith Choosing to not betray principles/loyalties, when treachery would be a significant advantage
Hope Bringing hope or joy to others, when this is detrimental to you (wastes time, causes problem, etc)
Charity Giving up something you'll actually need to someone else who would benefit from it
Fortitude Choosing to carry out a needed course of action, despite any fear, hardship, pain, injury &
overwhelming odds involved. Would be significantly better off if you acted cowardly or stayed safe
Justice Acting according to rules & laws (doing the 'right' thing) when cheating/crime would be beneficial.
Only taking what you've fairly earned, refusing to benefit (significantly) from an unfair advantage
Prudence Choosing to play it safe, and in so doing giving up opportunity for significant benefit.
Suffering a problem, setback, loss or similar, as a result of being too cautious or patient.
Temperance When there would be notable benefit from giving in to temptation, but the character
chooses to not indulge, limiting themselves to only what is actually needed (being too ''reserved'')
